The Queens Hotel Gladstone is in the midst of an exciting expansion – with three new Bottleshops opening across Gladstone as part of our $10M+ redevelopment and growth strategy. To support this, we’re seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to lead our Bottleshop operations and drive performance across our new retail footprint.

Role Purpose

As Retail Manager, you’ll lead through the Queens culture of premium service, accountability, and performance, ensuring that each Bottleshop delivers outstanding customer experiences and operational excellence. You’ll build, coach, and develop your team to achieve KPIs, drive sales, and create a market-leading retail environment.

We are looking for someone with the skills and mindset to treat the Bottleshops as if they were their own business — driving results, taking ownership, and delivering consistent growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Bottleshop Team across multiple sites.

Drive financial and operational performance, achieving sales targets and cost controls.

Ensure compliance with RSA, licensing, and stock management requirements.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and merchandising.

Create a positive workplace culture where staff are supported, engaged, and motivated.

Deliver a seamless customer journey – from service to product knowledge.

Work closely with the Venue Leadership Team to roll out promotions, marketing initiatives, and loyalty programs.

Manage rostering, ordering, inventory, and reporting requirements.

Be hands-on with SwiftPOS and ALM systems for retail operations, stock control, and supplier management.

Required Traits, Qualifications & Attributes

Proven experience as a Bottleshop / Retail Manager (multi-site preferred).

Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Competent with SwiftPOS and ALM stock management systems.

A true operator who can run the Bottleshops as if they were their own business.

Track record of driving team performance and retail results.

Exceptional focus on service quality and customer experience.

High level of accountability and attention to detail.

Ability to work flexibly across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Current/valid RSA certification (mandatory).

Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).

Physically fit, able to meet the manual handling requirements of the role.

Computer literacy for reporting, rostering, and communications.
