We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health Officer to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing environmental health regulations, conducting inspections, and promoting community health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections of premises such as food establishments, water sources, waste disposal sites, and public facilities to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
Investigate complaints and outbreaks related to environmental health hazards.
Provide education and guidance to the community on environmental health issues and best practices.
Prepare detailed reports and maintain records of inspections and investigations.
Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to promote public health initiatives.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental health laws and standards.
About you:
Appropriate qualification for appointment as an authorised officer under the SA Public Health Act 2011 and the SA Food Act 2001 are essential.
Required to hold a White Card, or willing to attain
Knowledge of environmental health regulations and standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in using inspection and reporting software is a plus.
