The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Financial Controller to take on a key leadership role within a large, complex organisation. Reporting to the CFO, you will act as 2IC and lead a capable finance team across financial accounting, accounts payable, compliance, and systems, while also overseeing reporting and driving process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the finance team, driving accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Oversee financial systems, banking, payments, and vendor management.
• Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts, statutory reports, and consolidated reporting.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax laws, and financial regulations (BAS, FBT, payroll tax, ESG reporting).
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, insurers, and banks.
• Oversee payroll compliance, lease accounting, and impairment modelling.
• Support business growth through acquisitions, divestments, and system upgrades.
• Play an active role on the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organisation-wide improvement projects.

About You
We are seeking a proactive, strategic finance leader with:

• CPA or CA or relevant qualifications.
• Proven financial leadership experience in complex environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to challenge processes, implement improvements, and deliver to tight deadlines.
