Commercial Accountant | Financial Controller

This multifaceted business offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller.

The Role

Reporting directly to the COO, you will take ownership of the group’s finance function, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of all day-to-day transactions, compliance, and reporting across three divisions: property, manufacturing, and mining/heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee preparation and accuracy of financial statements and monthly management reports.

Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax legislation.

Manage daily cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.

Provide insights and financial data to support Board presentations and strategic decision-making.

Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance efficiency and performance.

Drive improvements in financial processes and controls.

About You

CA/CPA qualified, with a minimum of 5 years experience as a financial accountant.

Strong technical financial accounting skills, public practice business services/advisory experience will be highly regarded.

Background in mining or civil contracting highly regarded.

Proven experience with large turnover entities in the multi-millions.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Xero, and Pronto.

Knowledge of state-based taxes desirable.

High attention to detail, strong analytical and reporting skills.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both strategically and operationally.
