Nexus Healthcare Group consists of three Accredited General Practices within the Macarthur region. Our GP owned and operated medical practices are committed to providing high quality health care for our patients and offers a wide range of medical and allied services to the community.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Practice Coordinator or an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Medical Receptionist looking to take the next step.
The Practice Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Medical Centres. In instances where the Practice Manager is absent from the Centre, the Practice Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the continued efficient staff management, administration and customer service.
The Role:
Lead and mentor the medical reception team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and patient flow.
Manage staff rosters, leave requests, and payroll-related administrative tasks.
Oversee all front-desk operations, including appointment scheduling, patient registration, and billing processes (Medicare, DVA, and private).
Process and manage payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
Handle complex patient inquiries and resolve escalated issues with professionalism and empathy.
Manage and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality protocols.
Coordinate with doctors and clinical staff to support their administrative needs and improve workflow.
Manage clinic supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
Assist with financial reporting and general bookkeeping duties.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in a medical administration or similar management role.
Familiarity with PRODA (Provider Digital Access) and its use for online government services
Previous experience with Accreditation processes or Quality Improvement is a significant advantage.
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Advanced computer and administrative skills, with proficiency in medical software
A professional, positive attitude and a passion for leading a high-performing team.
