ABOUT THE ROLE
The Risk and Controls Assurance Manager plays a key role in supporting the execution of the Controls Assurance Program and enhancing the organisation’s risk and compliance maturity. This role bridges Line 1 and Line 2 functions, ensuring effective oversight of incidents, issues, and timely remediation.

KEY RESONSIBILITIES

• Implement and maintain the Controls Assurance Program (CAP);
• Conduct controls testing and report on effectiveness and gaps;
• Support compliance with CPS 230 and other regulatory standards;
• Assist in executing the Quality Assurance Program and analysing QA data;
• Oversee incident management, ensuring timely investigation and remediation;
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for leadership and regulators; AND
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed assurance practices.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven 3–5 years experience in Internal Audit, Controls Assurance, or Risk Management;
• Strong understanding of APRA Prudential Standards (CPS 220 and CPS 230);
• Knowledge of Life Insurance products (Income Protection, Trauma, TPD) is highly regarded;
• Familiarity with AFSL and Corporations Act compliance frameworks;
• Exceptional analytical, listening, and data interpretation skills;
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and time management;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; AND
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
