Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Plan and oversee reinforcement steel projects, including preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates.
Interpret engineering and architectural plans to determine reinforcement requirements for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Conduct structural analysis to ensure designs meet Australian standards and performance requirements.
Estimate quantities and costs of reinforcement steel, preparing detailed cost plans and schedules to support client projects.
Monitor changes to project designs, assess impacts on reinforcement requirements, and negotiate variations.
Provide technical advice on construction methods, quality standards, and reinforcement specifications.
Liaise with production, warehouse, and dispatch teams to ensure reinforcement is processed, supplied, and delivered in accordance with client specifications.
Collaborate with builders, project managers, and other stakeholders to support construction planning and delivery.
Ensure compliance with WHS standards, building codes, and environmental requirements.
Key Skills and Experience Required
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
At least 2 years’ experience in civil engineering roles related to residential and commercial construction.
Strong technical knowledge of reinforcement steel, structural design, and estimation.
Experience preparing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
Familiarity with Australian building codes, standards, and regulations.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
