Woods & Co Recruitment are partnering with a new hospitality group set to launch a bold new Japanese fusion restaurant and bar in Melbourne. This venue will offer a fresh, modern dining experience featuring a menu full of Japanese flavours with Western influences.

We’re looking for a Head Chef ready to take full ownership of a brand-new kitchen, craft your own menu from scratch and build and lead a team to set the kitchen culture from day one. If you love pushing culinary boundaries, bringing bold ideas to life and setting new standards, this is your chance to make your mark on one of Melbourne’s exciting new venues.

What do you do?

• Oversee all BOH operations to ensure efficiency, high standards and smooth service.
• Develop, design and deliver the full menu with creativity and seasonal updates.
• Manage food costs and minimise wastage while maintaining premium quality.
• Build, lead and inspire your own kitchen team to set the standards and foster a culture of passion, teamwork and innovation.

What do you need?

• 3+ years experience as a Head Chef.
• Strong knowledge of Japanese/Asian Fusion cuisine.
• Creative with hands-on experience in developing and designing menus.
• Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage food costs whilst maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, inspire and mentor a team.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
