Job Title: Experienced Disability Support Worker – Paediatric Focus

About the Role
Next Level Independence is seeking experienced and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team in supporting two paediatric participants (aged 9 and 11) with Level 3 Autism/ASD. This role focuses on community-based access sessions, requiring a professional who is compassionate, reliable, and skilled in supporting children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualised support to paediatric participants with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 3) and ASD.

Assist clients in accessing the community and building independence.

Support participants with communication barriers, including use of ACC devices.

Implement behaviour support strategies to manage and respond to complex behaviours.

Promote physical activity and engagement through sport, swimming, and recreational activities.

Encourage social participation and skill development in line with NDIS goals.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting paediatric participants with disabilities.

Proven ability to support clients with communication barriers and ACC devices.

Experience working with complex behaviours.

Proficient swimmer.

Full driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Adequate level of fitness to support active children in community settings.

Non-smoker.

Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Background

Experience in sport, coaching, SSO, swimming instructor environments and must have strong personality to implement strict routine

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with participants and families.
