Building Advisor
Brisbane
$130K–$150K package plus super (negotiable on experience)
Full-time
Are you a confident construction or facilities professional who thrives on autonomy, has an eye for both big-picture planning and technical detail, and values building strong, long-term relationships?
We’re seeking a capable and proactive Building Advisor to oversee a portfolio of 25 schools, delivering expert guidance across planning, design, construction, and maintenance. You’ll play a vital role in shaping and sustaining exceptional learning environments—balancing practical delivery with future-focused capital planning.
This role sits at the heart of a rapidly growing and high-demand education landscape. With enrolments increasing rapidly, you'll provide strategic building advice, assess site capacity, and contribute to the development of new and expanded facilities—ranging from minor upgrades to full new school builds.
Why this role stands out:
- Portfolio of impact: Manage capital works, maintenance plans, and site development across 25 schools, working directly with school Principals who act as site-based Building Managers.
- Autonomy and variety: You won’t be stuck in an office—expect to be on the road, collaborating with stakeholders, visiting schools, assessing progress, and ensuring delivery standards are met.
- Strategic input: Your expertise will influence long-term asset planning, ensuring that building designs support both immediate needs and future enrolment growth.
- Hands-on delivery: Oversee projects under $2M with a high level of autonomy, and contribute to larger projects in partnership with senior stakeholders and consultants.
- Make a difference: You’ll be joining a values-driven, mission-based organisation where every facility built or improved enhances outcomes for young people.
What we’re looking for:
- A strong foundation in building or construction—whether from trades, engineering, facilities management or client-side project management.
- The ability to talk confidently with builders, consultants, and senior educators, bridging the gap between technical knowledge and community needs.
- Experience managing budgets, capital works, and maintenance programs. Familiarity with school environments or faith-based contexts is welcome, but not essential.
- A natural relationship-builder who can earn the trust of stakeholders (particularly Principals) and act as a reliable advisor.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, project management, trades or a related discipline, plus a current driver’s licence and eligibility to hold a Blue Card.
What’s on offer:
- A salary package of $130K–$150K (plus super), negotiable depending on your experience
- The chance to step into a highly respected advisor role with real scope for influence
- A stable and supportive team environment, backed by a respected employer of choice
- A role where your work directly contributes to positive educational outcomes
We want to fill this role quickly - so please apply asap.
