We are seeking a Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Planning Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our community’s sport and recreation spaces. The role is designed for established operators ready to make an immediate impact to step in at Level 7; or emerging infrastructure planners to grow into. As you progress, you’ll have the opportunity to lead complex, high-value projects and provide strategic advice that helps shape the future of our City.

Salary: Level 6/7 $93,877.27 to $109,271.89 pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

What You’ll Be Doing

Plan, manage, and deliver a portfolio of sport and recreation infrastructure projects

Partner with community groups, clubs and stakeholders to design facilities that support active, healthy lifestyles

Contribute to needs analysis, feasibility studies, facility design and project delivery (projects under $5M, progression to larger and more complex projects at next level)

Secure funding opportunities through grants and deliver value for money for our community

Influence the City’s long-term sport and recreation infrastructure strategy, ensuring sustainable, inclusive and future-ready outcomes

What We’re Looking For

A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Sport and Recreation Management, Business, Human Movement, Sports Science) with industry experience

Strong project management skills with experience in budgeting, scheduling and risk management

Knowledge of sport and recreation facility management, community engagement frameworks (IAP2) and how local clubs operate

Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills to influence positive outcomes

A collaborative, customer-first mindset with a genuine passion for building spaces that foster health, wellbeing and connection

Desirable skills include experience with facility design and construction, asset management, contract management and an understanding of local government operations and legislation
