The Sports Development Officer supports youth development at EVO Football by delivering engaging, age appropriate training sessions that build skills and confidence. The role works with the Tournament Coordinator to plan and run club tournaments, while maintaining strong communication with parents, players and staff to foster a connected club environment.
Reporting to the Head of Football Operations, the Sports Development Officer also manages team logistics, event coordination and club communications in line with EVO’s marketing strategy, contributing to programs that promote growth and inclusion at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design and deliver engaging and age-appropriate training sessions for youth players to develop skills and foster growth.
Support and facilitate player progression through structured coaching programs aligned with EVO Football objectives.
Collaborate with the Tournament Co-ordinator to plan and coordinate club-level events and tournaments that foster active participation and engagement.
Liaise effectively with parents, players and EVO Football staff members to ensure clear communication and promote player involvement at all levels.
Create promotional materials and club communication initiatives that foster community engagement and support participation in alignment with EVO Football’s broader marketing strategy that promotes strong community engagement.
Report to the Head of Football Operations on team logistics, including scheduling, equipment management and coordination of competitions.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of EVO Football programs and initiatives focusing on community outreach and continued player development.
Perform other duties as reasonable directed by Head of Football Operations, Director or delegate.
Essential Criteria
Experience in a sporting development role, particularly with youth player training, coaching and development.
Experience planning and coordinating club-level events and/or tournaments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and build rapport with parents, players and staff.
Demonstrated organisational and planning skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Experience in creating promotional content and managing communications that support development programs, player engagement and community participation.
Certificate III, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Sport Development, Sport and Recreation or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (ie Sport and Recreation, Business etc) or working toward one of these qualifications.
Current WA Working with Children Check.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
C Licence (or working towards).
2-5 years’ related experience in coaching or youth player development.
Desired Criteria
· Previous experience in Futsal tournaments highly desired.
· Futsal C License.
