Senior Corporate Security Engineer
The Decipher Bureau
Posted 14 days ago
It’s a role for someone who doesn’t just “configure and forget,” but actually knows how security controls work under the hood and can reason through attacks, mitigations, and trade-offs in practice.
This is an opportunity to own and shape the corporate security function within a high-growth, engineering-led business. You’ll be securing systems that underpin a company tackling global challenges in AI, electronic warfare, RF sensing, and advanced defence technology.
So…
- Can you automate the deployment of controls across Windows, macOS, and Linux?
- Do you understand how vulnerabilities translate to real-world risk and how to prioritise and remediate them effectively?
- Can you collaborate with IT and Detection & Response teams, enabling them with the right telemetry and tooling?
- Are you comfortable scripting in Python (maybe Go too) and using that to scale your impact?
- Do you get excited about experimenting with new approaches, like using LLMs for automation?
If you found yourself nodding “yes,” this might interest you.
Here’s what’s in it for you…
- A chance to work with cutting-edge tech in a company that’s scaling fast, with a genuine mission to make the world safer.
- Real autonomy, you’ll be trusted to take ownership of security strategy and execution, not bogged down in red tape.
- A role where corporate security isn’t an afterthought, it’s central to enabling the business and protecting critical operations.
- A sharp, engineering-first environment where colleagues care about doing things right.
- A growing HQ in Sydney (2–3 days a week in-office), with a strong culture and a very real buzz.
What will you be doing?
A “typical day” doesn’t really exist here, but you’ll likely:
- Automate and deploy security controls across endpoints, office networks, and remote access.
- Own vulnerability management end-to-end tracking CVEs, mitigation, and communicating progress to leadership.
- Respond to corporate infrastructure incidents, working closely with Detection & Response.
- Collect metrics, identify patterns, and create actionable improvements.
- Shape and lead the corporate security strategy, ensuring it scales with business growth.
- Experiment with LLMs and automation to push the boundaries of how security can operate at scale.
Expectations?
This isn’t a “click next in the setup wizard” role. You’ll be expected to:
- Go deep technically, hands-on.
- Reason through threats and design mitigations.
- Clearly articulate your security decisions to both engineers and business leaders.
You’ll shape systems that matter, protecting people, products, and global operations.
