Trades Assistant – CNC & Composites

Form 3D is seeking a motivated Trades Assistant to join our growing composites manufacturing team. This role will support our qualified tradespeople with a strong focus on assisting with 5-Axis CNC machining and general workshop duties.

About the Role

As a Trades Assistant, you will work closely with experienced technicians and machinists to ensure smooth day-to-day operations in our manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain exposure to composite materials, CNC machining, and precision manufacturing processes.

Candidates must demonstrate moderate physical fitness as this role involves regular lifting and extended periods of standing in a manufacturing environment.

This position requires an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the operation and preparation of 5-Axis & 3-Axis CNC machines

Support trades staff with cutting, trimming, sanding, and finishing of composite components

Handle raw materials, tooling, and workshop equipment

Applicants must be 18+ years of age to safely handle raw materials, tooling, and workshop equipment

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment

Perform general labouring tasks as required

About You

Mechanical aptitude with a keen interest in manufacturing and CNC technology

Previous experience in a workshop or factory environment (advantageous but not essential)

Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Willingness to learn and take direction from senior trades staff

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Australian work rights are required for this position
