Position Overview
As a Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of young people by leading with integrity and being a positive role model. In this role, you will deliver face-to-face workshops in primary and secondary schools, drawing on your wellbeing and leadership experience, cultural knowledge and sporting or youth work background. You will guide and inspire students to reach their full potential within an encouraging environment that nurtures growth, confidence, and connection.

Key Responsibilities
Facilitate engaging workshops and mentoring sessions in primary and secondary schools.
Deliver programs integrating cultural knowledge, wellbeing, leadership, and resilience.
Prepare and plan workshops and presentations for effective delivery, within the structure provided.
Provide reporting, feedback, and progress updates on student engagement.
Use sporting, leadership, or youth work experience to connect with and inspire students.
Build positive relationships with young people, supporting their growth and development.
Work collaboratively with schools, staff, and the Dhinewan Mentoring team.
Contribute to creating safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environments.
Model positive behaviour, leadership, and wellbeing practices.
About You
Experience working with young people in education, community, or youth work settings.
Strong understanding of cultural knowledge, practices, and storytelling.
Passionate about health, wellbeing, fitness, and personal development.
Background in wellbeing, leadership, or sport is required.
Confident and engaging facilitator with excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal peoples, cultures, and communities.
Reliable, adaptable, and committed to empowering young people.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Current Working With Children Check.
Employment Details
Flexible part-time, casual, or contract opportunities available.
Working days are Wednesday to Friday during school hours.
Training and ongoing support provided.
To be considered you must have the following;
Relevant work experience
A current Employment Working with Children Check.
Current drivers licence and regular access to a vehicle as travel is required
