About the role
As Direct Support Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and overseeing our Community Access platform. You’ll support our platform of Team Leaders who oversee Participants and Support Workers, whilst maintaining a small caseload yourself to stay connected to frontline service delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership: Oversee a team of dedicated professionals, supporting them to deliver high-quality services in line with our mission, values, and guiding principles.
Program Development: Develop and expand our Community Access platform sustainably, with a focus on increasing service hours and maintaining Participant satisfaction as a priority.
Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships, raise awareness, and actively engage with professionals and stakeholders across the community and disability sector to strengthen Empowered’s presence and impact.
Quality and Compliance: Safeguard the wellbeing of staff and Participants, ensuring ongoing compliance with the NDIS Code of Conduct, NDIS Practice Standards, SCHADS Award, and all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Participant Journey Oversight: Ensure Participants are supported across their full journey at Empowered, with Team Leaders consistently meeting standards and expectations.
Financial Stewardship: Apply a sound understanding of the key drivers of business performance and use this knowledge to strengthen service sustainability.
Budget Management: Effectively manage organisational budgets to maximise resources and achieve strategic goals.
Essential Skills and Experience
Extensive understanding and knowledge of the NDIS, including Pricing Arrangements, Practice Standards and Code of Conduct.
Proven ability in leadership, with demonstrated experience successfully leading teams in the disability sector or a related field.
Strong understanding of the SCHADS Award and its application in disability services.
Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (desired but not essential).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to promoting inclusivity and empowerment for individuals with a range of disabilities.
Experience with behaviour support plans and implementation, including compliance with restricted and unrestricted practices and mandatory reporting obligations.
Salary
$90,000 – $95,000 per annum (plus superannuation).
