About the Role

As a Commercial Structural Steel Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection on commercial projects. Your role will be key in securing profitable work and maintaining our reputation for excellence in pricing and execution.

Your work will reflect best practice allowing a smooth transition through the construction process. You will communicate effectively with productively with the internal team, Engineers and Clients with a quality outcome in mind at all times.

Key tasks are:

Prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and complete BOQ check

Interpret engineering & architectural plans

Reading scope of works

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the projects objectives are met

Reviewing, preparing, and submitting tender documents for projects

Follow up sales calls and tender results

Skills and Experience Required

Demonstrated experience in structural steel estimation for commercial projects.

Strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy and conduct back-costing reviews.

Proven ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.

Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

A construction background or trade qualification is highly regarded.
