Prahran Square Family Clinic is a GP-owned, AGPAL accredited, private-billing clinic located on the edge of the 60+ million Prahran Square development in the heart of Prahran. We have over 10,000m² of multifunctional urban parkland and 500 spaces of underground car parking on our doorstep as well as all the benefits of the Prahran Market and the Chapel Street Shopping Precinct.

We have a small, close-knit team that prides itself of providing a standard of care that is second to none. We are looking for a practice nurse with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills who is able to connect with our patients and effectively liaise with them on behalf of our GPs and Practice owners.

We have also recently purchased a clinic at 63 Power Street, Southbank and are seeking a part-time nurse to work at both locations.

Responsibilities will include:

Providing support and assistance to GPs and other nursing staff in relation to general nursing duties

Managing results, recalls and reminders

Conduct preventative/screening procedures (CST's/spirometry/ECGs)

Responsible for the Cold Chain Management and Onelink ordering for NIP vaccines

Stock control of clinical supplies and ensuring the treatment room is set up and managed compliantly with current RACGP standards

Responsibility for infection control processes including sterilization for the practice surgical instruments (Melag Autoclave)

Setting up patients for procedures & educating them pre and post- treatment

Chronic disease management and health assessments.

Wound management and iron infusions

Reception relief is not a large component of this role but may be required occasionally (30 mins or 1 hour/once a month).

Position requirements:

Prior experience working in a Australian general practice (rural and remote work highly regarded)

Registered Nurse qualification

Current registration with AHPRA and indemnity insurance

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Best Practice software experience preferable

First Aid certificate

Experience in performing immunizations (travel, NIP and yearly flu clinics), cannulation experience with demonstrated competency (Iron Infusions), ability to perform CSTs (preferred not essential), venesection, 12-lead ECG, skills in motivational interviewing and chronic disease management.

It is a practice requirement that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and you will be asked for your vaccination certificate during the recruitment process.
