Your new role
Our Adelaide office is currently looking for a full time Senior Insolvency Accountant. This is a dynamic and challenging role where you will be assisting the Manager with the planning and control of small to medium sized jobs, as well as stepping up and performing the more complex work that comes with larger matters. As a Senior Accountant, you are strongly encouraged to guide, support and mentor the junior accountants within your team, giving you a platform to develop and hone your management skills which will in turn provide an excellent stepping stone for you to progress to the role of Supervisor.
Job Description
The day-to-day tasks you will be expected to provide are:
Services to support the appointees complete their statutory duties pursuant to the relevant legislation, including but not limited to providing advice on reports, documentation & records, taxation, audits and insolvency;
Communicating with relevant stakeholders of insolvent entities regarding the appointment;
Assisting the appointees and managers with the identification and realisation of assets the subject to their appointment;
Preparation of reports to creditors and other stakeholders as part of each insolvency engagement; and
Ensuring statutory timeframes are adhered to and preparation of statutory documents.
Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Law or similar;
Commenced CAANZ/CPA qualifications;
A minimum of 2-3 years’ Australian work experience in a specialist accounting firm across personal and corporate insolvency;
The drive to build a career in the specialised and sometimes challenging area of insolvency;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Proven time management skills with exceptional attention to detail; and
An in-depth knowledge of the Corporations Act, Bankruptcy Act and relevant insolvency law.
