About You

You are currently registered as a Building Surveyor (Level 2 or Level 3), a Cadet or have extensive experience in a variety of domestic construction projects

You have good knowledge of the NCC, relevant state legislation and the certification process

You are committed to providing exceptional customer service

You are proficient with writing clear and accurate reports

You have good organisation and time management skills

You have the ability to read and interpret plans

You have high computer literacy skills

You are a team player

You have research skills of a very high standard

Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse range of issues and manage competing priorities

You hold a valid driving licence

About the Role

Custom Building Approvals are looking for a full time person to join our growing team in our Sunshine Coast office. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside several experienced certifiers on a variety of domestic and commercial projects. To be successful in this position, you should be committed to providing a high level of quality service to our clients, be proactive in your approach, and have the ability to develop positive working relationships with our team and our client base.

The role involves following checklists to ensure compliance with all local planning schemes, National and State Codes, and National and Stage regulations and Acts.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a busy day-to-day workload and client expectations

Provision of expert guidance and advice to our client

Liaise professionally with clients and key stakeholders

Take ownership of client issues and follow through to a resolution

Be responsible for the assessment, approval and finalisation of Building Applications in line with applicable regulations / codes / standards

Provide advice to clients on Building Code and other relevant legislative matters

Develop quotations based on client requests

Conduct construction inspections as required, issue reports and keep clients informed of progress

Take relevant action to address non-compliant work

Attend in house and site meetings as required and take required actions

Review certificates for compliance
