Hays Gippsland is proud to be partnering with a well established and rapidly growing organisation based in the Latrobe Valley, currently seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join their team in a full time, permanent capacity.

You will be responsible for the following

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant awards, EBAs, taxation, and superannuation legislation
• Prepare payroll reports, support month end and year end reconciliations, and assist with audits and budgeting
• Liaise with HR, Finance, and operational teams to resolve payroll queries and provide expert payroll advice
• Maintain payroll systems and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing for large sized workforces
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, including awards, EBAs, PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax
• Proficiency in payroll systems and reporting tools, with the ability to manage reconciliations and support audit processes
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across HR, Finance, and operational teams and handle sensitive payroll queries with professionalism
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
