The Rostering Officer at Hands on People Pty Ltd plays a crucial role in ensuring that staffing requirements are met efficiently and effectively. This position involves managing the scheduling of staff to meet operational needs while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Developing and maintaining accurate rosters for all support workers, ensuring optimal coverage across various functions.
- Analysing staffing needs based on business demands and employee availability to create effective schedules.
- Coordinating with department managers to understand their staffing requirements and address any issues related to shift coverage.
- Monitoring timesheets, leave requests, and overtime to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Communicating roster changes promptly and effectively to all relevant staff members to minimise disruption.
- Providing support in resolving any conflicts or discrepancies related to shifts or personnel assignments.
- Timely timesheet approval for payroll processing.
- Ensure rosters comply with SCHADS Award, WHS, and NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission standards.
This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while adapting quickly to changing circumstances. The Rostering Officer will also need excellent communication skills, as collaboration with various departments is essential for successful operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a rostering or scheduling role
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
- Understanding of relevant legislation and compliance standards
- Current unrestricted driver’s license
- Working with Children OCHRE card
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in workforce management within a similar industry preferred
- Experience in rostering software and scheduling tools
- Familiarity with payroll processes and related systems is advantageous
- Experience working in a high-volume environment with changing priorities
