THE ROLE
Position Title: Marketing and Events Manager
Employment Type: Full Time Ongoing
Reports to: Principal
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Marketing and Events Manager will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional who will oversee all aspects of communications, marketing, and promotions of the School through various social media channels. Your primary focus will be to engage with current families while appealing to the wider community to increase enrolment numbers. You will be responsible for the promotion and marketing of Rockhampton Girls Grammar School ensuring the brand and marketing campaigns are new and innovative. A personable approach will be backed by a comprehensive understanding of brand management and marketing coordination, motivated by the desire to deliver and implement initiatives to a very high standard.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Marketing and Events Manager will work closely with the Principal, Executive Team, Director of IT, Enrolments Officer, Alumni Liaison Officer and Administration staff to ensure the school’s strategic goals are met, notably:
Upholding Rockhampton Girls Grammar Schools position as the leading an all-girls Prep-12 independent day and boarding school in Regional Queensland.
Overseeing large scale school events scheduled throughout the year.
Strengthening relationships across the whole school community through effective communication and engagement with staff, students, and families, past, present, and prospective.
Coordinating the development, design, and implementation of an annual strategic marketing plan.
Building and maintaining positive and proactive working relationships with various digital and print media and stakeholders.
Connecting and engaging with the school community regularly and in a timely manner through newsletters, magazines, direct mail, and social media.
Valuing the Rockhampton Girls Grammar School’s Heritage by engaging with Alumni Liaison Officer to acknowledge and celebrate past and present achievements of Old Girls.
Enriching relationships across the school community, through connection with the school’s Parents and Friends Association.
Managing and overseeing all aspects of the School’s marketing budget.
Managing and overseeing all fundraising events.
Providing advice, analytics and projections to the Principal and Executive Team on matters related to the area of marketing.
Creating, maintaining and managing all school advertisements through various mediums.
Maintaining School documents and promotional publications, policies, procedures, and information.
Developing and maintain a business register of current and past families.
Planning, organising, and leading School events and programs aimed at promoting the School to the local, national and international community.
Actively participate in the life of Rockhampton Girls Grammar School attending scheduled meetings and events.
Photographing and videoing school events or events the school is partaking in to share to the school community.
BRAND
Maintaining the School’s brand integrity through the usage of the School Style Guide – specifically managing the School’s image, assets and their use including logos, type fonts, colours, photography and videography.
Assisting in upholding the School’s agreed corporate image.
Overseeing the design and maintenance of all school marketing assets including website, social media channels, publications, advertisements, and signage.
Organising and managing new School photography and videography as and when required.
Maintaining historical School marketing materials and advertising in conjunction with Alumni Liaison Officer.
MARKETING AND ADVERTISING
Managing the marketing and promotions budget whilst providing progressive ideas and initiative to achieve best practice marketing.
Managing all advertising requirements including media buying, design, copy, artwork and placement across channels such as digital, television, outdoor, radio, press, shopping centres etc.
Providing innovative, original and relevant marketing campaigns that align with the School Values and Strategic Vision.
Providing the Principal and Executive team with marketing analytics.
Liaising with marketing, advertising and promotional agencies.
Arranging advertising material for school fundraising initiatives.
Contributing written material to promotional and advertising publications.
Entering, maintaining, and archiving School marketing and promotional material.
EVENTS
The Marketing and Events Manager will be a passionate and proactive part of the Girls Grammar school community who shows an active presence throughout the day-to-day life of the school and at all events. They will liaise closely and effectively with staff coordinators for smaller in school events and be the key organiser or coordinator for larger school and community events. As events are a major part of the school’s culture, fundraising and advertising opportunity, it is expected that appropriate exposure via the various media channels will be carried out in a timely manner both before and after events.
COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL
Managing the design of all School promotional documentation. Currently this includes Bi-annual Connections Magazine, Kampalla Yearbook, newsletters, signage, regional events, marketing material, brochures and national and international material.
Maintaining and managing the School Website – content, functionality and aesthetic.
Maintaining and managing all School enrolment information including prospectus, boarding information, promotional packs for rural tours in consultation with the Enrolments Officer.
Organising all social media content and communication.
Engaging with various media representatives for their presence at school events, providing them with content and digital material.
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Tertiary qualification/s in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
A background in a school or education environment.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and work as part of a team.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office and design software.
Experience in social media management including organic and sponsored/paid posts.
Strong self-awareness, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritise workload, work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
Strong attention to detail.
Flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Promote Rockhampton Girls Grammar School inside and outside the school community.

possess a current Blue Card from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.
