About the Role:

As a Customer Service Assistant, you will have the chance to collaborate with a supportive team, contributing to a positive work environment. We are looking for someone who is not only passionate about customer service, but is also committed to delivering the best possible experience to our community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional, customer service, including front counter interactions, call centre operations, and telephone manner
  • Assisting with daily Council inbox requests, capturing and responding to requests, and distributing them to relevant Council officers
  • Assisting with daily mail duties
  • Providing timely and accurate information, both verbally and in writing, in accordance with legislation, Council Policy, protocol, and procedures
  • Exercising appropriate discretion, and sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality as required
  • Taking ownership of customer matters and issues and ensuring follow-up through to resolution

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent intrapersonal and communication skills that has a friendly nature and a keen eye for accuracy in administrative tasks, order processing and cash handling. If you are a people person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you! The ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience in a customer service/administration-based role
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships, both internal and external
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Developed organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
