Role impact & contribution
The Senior Associate Governance and Projects role sits within the Sustainable & Impact Investment, and Governance team. In this role you will be agile and responsible for working closely with teams and senior leaders across Treasury and other government entities to drive strategic reforms in the State Budget processes, budget and balance sheet frameworks and support the management of the Asset and Liability Committee’s governance, operational and strategic requirements. You will support the delivery of key projects and project change management whilst operating in an agile cross-disciplinary team to provide strategic, operational, financial, risk management and governance support.
Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

Achieve success as Senior Associate Governance and Projects
In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
Understanding of public sector financial management and policies. An understanding of NSW Government’s Prime system and workflow management system is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to communicate policy, financial and/or economic analysis clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing).
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively and ask for support when needed.
Strong project management skills demonstrating the ability to deliver agreed outcomes on time, on budget, and to quality standards, and demonstrated time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Ability to understand financial frameworks and undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to provide robust advice.
Ability to adapt to and thrive in a continuously changing business and policy environment.
Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, PowerBI, and PowerQuery is welcomed.
Demonstrated ability to exercise influence in dealings with external stakeholders, and strong interpersonal skills.
Tertiary qualifications in public policy, risk management, finance, law or other relevant areas are highly regarded.
