Do you love keeping systems running smoothly and helping teams access the right information at the right time? Join the City of Melville as an Information Management Officer and help shape how we manage, store and protect our records across the organisation.
You’ll manage day-to-day information services including the receipt, classification, indexing, storage, retrieval, distribution, retention and disposal of information across the City. You’ll also support Freedom of Information (FOI) processes, provide advice to staff on information management responsibilities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Location: City of Melville Civic Centre
Salary: $71,876.88 to $84,381.44 pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
What You’ll Be Doing
Assist in reviewing, developing, and maintaining systems, policies and procedures for the City’s Business Management System
Implement the City’s Record Keeping Plan in line with the State Records Act 2000
Provide guidance and awareness to staff on information management practices
Collaborate across teams to manage FOI requests and ensure discoverability of information
Support Information Services projects and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Maintain a high standard of customer service and contribute to a culture of quality, safety and compliance
What We’re Looking For
A current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
Experience in information management including handling mail and electronic document management systems
Sound knowledge of information management legislation, standards and practices
Excellent communication, time management and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows-based systems
