The Role Senior Accountant / Team Leader

This is not just another accounting job. This is your chance to step up and lead. You'll guide and mentor a team of accountants while providing high-level strategic advice to clients, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and value-added services every step of the way.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS, IAS, FBT prepared by your team

Mentor and train staff, building technical excellence and confidence

Manage workflow to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

Oversee indirect tax obligations (payroll tax, workers comp, land tax)

Advise on complex tax matters and tax-efficient structuring (incl. property portfolios)

Partner with the Director on client portfolio management and strategic planning

Build lasting client relationships through clear communication and trusted advice

Stay ahead of legislative changes and implement compliance practices

What Were Looking For

We want a leader who brings:

CA/CPA qualification

6+ years experience in public practice, with proven team management

Experience mentoring and reviewing junior staff

Strong technical expertise across accounting, tax, and compliance

Advanced knowledge of Xero, MYOB, APS, and cloud-based systems

Strategic thinking with problem-solving flair

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Organisational excellence and the ability to manage competing priorities
