As the Senior Financial Accountant you will work as part of a high performing finance team, to build up and improve processes, take the lead on all technical accounting matters and work with an array of high calibre stakeholders across the business.

About the opportunity:

As the Senior Financial Accountant you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, compliance, and the audit process whilst collaborating with the business when it comes to budgeting & forecasting. Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with ASX regulations and Australian Accounting Standards.
• Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidation of financial results and preparation of corporate monthly journals.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on technical accounting issues
• Prepare the budget and forecast and analyse monthly performance
• Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, coordinating and overseeing the audit process
• Provide technical accounting support, identifying and addressing complex accounting issues
• Lead or assist with ad-hoc financial projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About you:

• CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
• Suitable for either a Big 4 or Mid-tier 1st or 2nd mover
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting / auditing related roles
• Strong technical financial acumen and a solid grasp of IFRS
• Experience auditing or working within an ASX listed business would be advantageous
• Experience auditing consumer product based clients from Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, or Pharmaceutical
• First rate communication skills and ability to business partner with stakeholders outside of finance
• Committed to long term progression and career growth, as this role will likely expand over time in responsibilities
