About Us

We focus on sustainability, food safety, and continuous improvement across our modern production facility. With a strong team culture and investment in technology and people, we deliver great products to customers across Australia and beyond.

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Technologist to join our technical team. In this hands-on role, you’ll help keep our production running smoothly, support upgrades and improvements, and work closely with engineers, operators, and maintenance staff to solve problems and increase efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Engineering Technologist at Purearth, you will play a vital technical role in supporting process reliability, efficiency, and compliance. You will work closely with Engineers, Operations, QA, and Maintenance teams to implement engineering solutions on the factory floor. Your core duties will include:

Apply and adapt established engineering practices to help improve production processes to reduce waste, save energy, increase output

Assist in designing, developing, and testing of engineering systems

Support engineering projects like new equipment installations or system upgrades

Conduct technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis to investigate and fix production issues as they arise

Assist in writing and updating operating procedures and safety practices

Train and guide production staff to ensure safe and consistent operations

Monitor key systems like cleaning cycles, utilities, and quality checks

Use automation and control systems (SCADA, PLC) to track performance and recommend improvements

Conduct data analysis and performance reporting

Play a role in plant start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers to minimise downtime

Contribute to food safety plans and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food standards

Coordinate with planning and warehouse teams to align material availability, inventory levels, and logistics flows with production schedules for efficient plant operations.

Integrate production planning and process operations to optimise throughput, reduce downtime, and improve OEE across processing lines.

You’ll be involved in real projects that make a difference - like improving cleaning efficiency, reducing milk losses, or supporting the launch of new product lines.

Eligibility:

A qualification in engineering, applied science, or a related technical field

At least 3-5 years of experience in a food, beverage, or manufacturing environment

Experience working with production equipment and control systems (SCADA experience is a plus)

A practical mindset - you enjoy solving problems and making things work better

Strong communication skills - you can explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical team members

Experience in writing procedures, training others, or leading small improvement projects

A commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

The ability to work independently and take initiative

You should have a solid understanding of how production systems work and how to improve them.

Why Join Purearth?

Be part of a supportive, skilled team that values innovation and continuous learning

Work with modern equipment and real responsibility from day one

Opportunities to grow your skills and take on bigger projects

A safe, inclusive workplace with a focus on sustainability and well-being

On-site training and career development pathways
