About the Role:
Officers operate on a rotating 14-day roster, which involves weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provisions of the VPS Enterprise Agreement.
The role of the Rostering Officer is to assist with forward planning and development of rosters, up to 6 weeks in advance, managing day to day rostering enquiries, adjusting rosters to accommodate changes such as leave requests, unplanned absences and accommodating any changing based on operational needs.
Some of your other duties will include:
- Maintaining rostering information on TimeTarget (e.g. Leave planner, Forecast Tool, and Compliance task list), employee databases and establishments.
- Performing a range of daily and fortnightly quality checks and manually authorise any required outstanding timesheet exceptions, resolve anomalies, check accuracy of timesheets and ensuring the efficient and effective management of staff rosters contributing to the overall operational success of the location.
- Resolve local rostering issues in line with local guidelines and escalate more complex matters to the team leader when required.
About You:
As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrable experience and proficiency in the use of rostering based systems, such as TimeTarget/Humanforce or Kronos, and understanding of rostering principles for planning and maintaining multiple staff roster lines.
- Demonstrable experience understanding and advising on enterprise awards and agreements as they relate to rostering.
- Knowledge and experience in rostering, human resource services and / or payroll processing.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in human resources, finance or business administration is highly desirable.
