Tactical Advocacy Group is a veteran led private advocacy organisation that helps Australian Defence Force veterans navigate the Department of Veterans’ Affairs claims process. Our purpose is simple. The opportunity
We are hiring a full time Veteran Advocate to manage our next portfolio of veteran clients from first contact through to resolution. You will work from home, act as the primary point of contact, and progress claims with care and precision. You will prepare evidence, lodge applications, book appointments, keep momentum through follow up, and explain every step in plain language. You will be supported by a small, experienced team that values clear thinking, steady delivery and respectful communication.

What you will do

Triage service history and conditions, identify likely entitlements, and plan the claim pathway.

Gather and organise evidence including service documents, medical records, GP and specialist reports, and support with personal statements.

Draft clear briefs for medical providers so reports address the right questions.

Prepare and lodge claims via PRODA and other accepted channels with accurate, complete documentation.

Track progress, record actions, and follow up with DVA to remove blockers and keep cases moving.

Explain decisions and next steps in plain language and with empathy.

Prepare internal review requests and basic VRB referral packs when required.

Maintain accurate digital records in our state of the art CRM, email and file system to audit standard.

Coordinate with colleagues to solve issues, share knowledge, and improve process.

Handle sensitive personal and health information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What you will bring

Strong written and verbal communication. Able to translate complex rules into practical next steps.

Organised, reliable, and disciplined. Comfortable managing a remote caseload and meeting deadlines.

Confident with Microsoft systems, email and file management. Experience with Zoho or other CRM systems is preferred.

Familiarity with DVA processes and terminology, or the capacity to learn these quickly.

Experience in claims, health, government, law, rehabilitation, social services or community support is valued.

Full Australian working rights are essential.

Ability to be available during standard business hours AEST, with flexibility for client needs when required.
