Proclinical is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our client, a pioneering biologics manufacturer establishing Australia’s first facility dedicated to the production of viral vectors for advanced therapies. Our client has just launched a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art facility and is preparing to secure its TGA licence. As a Quality Control Technician, you’ll have the opportunity to join at an exciting growth stage and play a key role in shaping the site’s success.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Quality Control and Assurance, the QC Technician will support quality control laboratory operations, including sample testing, equipment calibration and maintenance, stock management, and documentation in compliance with GMP requirements. This role is highly varied, involving both laboratory and documentation support to ensure smooth QC operations across testing, compliance, and regulatory readiness.
Team Size: 4
Duration: Permanent, full-time.
Start Date: ASAP.
Hours: Standard Mon–Fri business hours
Capacity: All on-site.
Location: Sydney, NSW.
Work Rights: Full unrestricted working rights such as Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Role Responsibilities
Perform QC testing of raw materials, media, in-process samples, stability samples, water, and finished products.
Support environmental monitoring and sample management processes.
Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and qualified in line with GMP standards.
Record, review, and archive documentation accurately in accordance with GMP and Data Integrity requirements.
Support investigations into deviations, OOS results, and CAPAs.
Assist with stock management and laboratory housekeeping to ensure operational readiness.
Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Demonstrate and role-model the company’s values, vision, and culture through day-to-day work, collaboration, and professional conduct.
Skills and Experience
Tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Biology, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline.
1+ years’ experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g. pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food testing etc).
Knowledge of GMP, GLP and Quality Systems (TGA, FDA, or equivalent) - highly regarded.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Adaptable and flexible to meet production and regulatory demands.
