As our Environment & Heritage Advisor, you’ll play a key role in planning and delivering environmental and cultural heritage programs across YEC’s projects. You’ll work closely with Traditional Owners, consultants, and internal teams to ensure our work is safe, respectful, and aligned with Yindjibarndi values and regulatory requirements.

This role is crucial in supporting YEC’s commitment to cultural heritage protection, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment. Reporting to the WHSEH Manager, you will support the company’s Heritage Protection Agreement (HPA) across all YEC projects.

About Us

Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is a partnership between Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) and international renewable energy company, ACEN Corporation (ACEN).

Representing one of the largest Indigenous-led renewable energy initiatives in Australia, YEC will see the Yindjibarndi people and ACEN work together to develop wind, solar, and renewable energy storage projects on Yindjibarndi Ngurra (country) – an area covering approximately 13,000 km2 within the Yindjibarndi Native Title Determination Areas in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The partnership agreement between the Yindjibarndi and ACEN includes principles ensuring Yindjibarndi approval of all proposed project sites on Yindjibarndi Ngurra, Yindjibarndi equity participation of 25% - 50% in all constructed projects, preferred contracting for Yindjibarndi-owned businesses, and training and employment opportunities for Yindjibarndi people.

ACEN is the listed energy platform of the Ayala Group. The company has ~5,300 MW of capacity in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, USA and Australia. The company’s renewable share of capacity is at 87%, among the highest in the region. ACEN Australia is the platform representing ACEN’s renewable energy assets in Australia. It includes several solar, wind, battery and pumped hydro projects across New South Wales, Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia in development and construction.
