Systems Engineer – Projects, Support & Infrastructure (MSP)

Austin Technology is a Perth-based Managed Services Provider helping Australian SMBs take control of their IT with reliable support, smart infrastructure, and a strong security foundation. We’re looking for a Systems Engineer to join our high-performing team — someone who thrives in a multi-client MSP environment and values outcomes over just working tickets.
This is not a narrow role. You’ll deliver across support, infrastructure, cloud, and client strategy. One day you might be scoping a solution with a CEO, the next you’re leading a migration or resolving a complex escalation. What You’ll Do
Deliver proactive and reactive engineering tasks across client environments.
Provide Level 2/3 BAU support and escalation handling.
Implement infrastructure, cloud, and security projects.
Maintain servers, applications, backups, and DR strategies.
Monitor and respond using RMM and toolsets.
Support hybrid, private cloud, and on-prem environments.
Document accurately in our ITSM platform (Halo).
Contribute to process improvements and mentor junior staff.
Provide input on presales scoping when required.
What We’re Looking For
Experience – 4+ years with an MSP or Systems Integrator, delivering support and projects.
Technical skills – Strong across Windows Server, AD/DNS/DHCP, RDS, networking (VLANs, VPNs, routing/switching), Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Azure, and MSP security stacks.
Project delivery – Demonstrated success in migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
Communication – Clear, confident written and verbal communication with all levels of a business (this is non-negotiable).
Mindset – Commercially aware, proactive, hands-on, and client-focused.
Certifications (Microsoft, Cisco) and knowledge of ITIL are desirable but not essential.
