Moreton ATSICHS operates a growing network of healthcare clinics for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our model of care provides holistic health and wellbeing services to support our Community across their lifespan. We bring together primary care, allied health, dental, mental health and wellbeing, maternity and early childhood, disability services, specialist services, and aged care as one team focussed on clients’ individual needs and goals.

About the role

The position is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient reception and administration to contribute to the achievement of MATSICHS specialist services business objectives, including increased practice patient numbers and attendance rates.

Day to Day Duties Include:

  • Provide an exemplary reception service for the specialist clinic, and ensure adequate cover is in place before leaving the reception area.
  • Meet and greet clients and visitors to the clinic.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and take messages.
  • Attend to general enquiries, escalating as appropriate.
  • Maintain hygiene and welcoming aesthetic of waiting room. Keep reception area tidy.
  • Provision of client services to all clients to the clinic including allied health and specialist health services.
  • Prioritise patients when necessary and screen urgent phone calls, referring to relevant clinicians as required e.g. Registered Nurse, allied health etc.
  • Adhere to practices to achieve high book and attendance rates, including checking time requirements for each appointment, coordinating daily lists, ringing patients to confirm attendance, managing changes and follow up appointments, monitoring and managing patient flow/wait times within the day.

About you

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise workload with a high attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working with an electronic Patient Management System e.g. MMEx (electronic medical appointment system)
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
