Dr Andrew Broadhurst, Brisbane Plastic Surgeon, is a well-established plastic surgery clinic known for delivering high-quality, personalised care in a professional and supportive environment. We are currently looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a smooth, patient-focused experience from the very first interaction. Our team is passionate, skilled, and committed to excellence — and we’re looking for someone equally dedicated to join us at the front desk.
About the Role
As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Business Manager and serve as the first point of contact for our patients — whether in person, on the phone, or online. Your role is critical in creating a warm, welcoming, and efficient experience for all patients.
You will play a vital role in managing appointment scheduling, coordinating communications, and supporting daily administrative operations, all while upholding our values of ease of access, speed of access, and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience & Bookings
Manage patient onboarding, inquiries, and appointment scheduling
Deliver consistent and compassionate communication across all channels
Liaise with clinical teams to support smooth patient flow
Administration & Records
Maintain accurate patient records, manage referrals, and perform eligibility checks
Theatre bookings and scheduling
Invoicing, receipting and quoting
Assist with prescription and document handling
Utilise systems such as Magentus (Genie) and Office 365 for daily operations
Process Improvement
Identify and implement workflow improvements
Support system integrations and enhance administrative efficiency
Training & Support
Assist in training new team members on clinic processes and systems
Share knowledge of clinical services and administrative protocols
Data & Systems Management
Maintain internal IT systems and databases
Use data insights to support operational decisions and reporting
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with privacy, data security, and healthcare governance standards
Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role (plastic surgery or specialist clinic experience preferred but not required)
Strong knowledge of Medicare, Private Health, and DVA billing legislation
Experience using Genie or similar practice management software
Proactive problem-solver with a focus on resolution
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and consistent delivery of quality service
Strong time management and organisational skills
