About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join the team at Paterson Tavern, a popular country pub located in Paterson NSW 2421. This full-time role offers the opportunity to lead and develop our kitchen team, creating delicious seasonal menus that showcase the best of local produce.

What you'll be doing

Plan, prepare and cook high-quality meals for the pub's restaurant and function guests in a high volume environment

Manage the kitchen team, including rostering, training and mentoring junior chefs

Develop and refine the pub's seasonal menu, ensuring it appeals to our diners

Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen

Monitor food and beverage costs and make recommendations to improve profitability

Collaborate with the pub's management team to deliver an exceptional customer experience

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a chef

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen management best practices

Excellent cooking skills with the ability to prepare a variety of cuisines

Creative flair and a passion for using seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients

Strong leadership and people management abilities

Effective communication and problem-solving skills
