About the Role
Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager - Budgeting and Analysis to lead a high-performing team and drive financial insight across the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this senior leadership role is responsible for:

  • Business partnering and building positive relationships with key stakeholders to build financial literacy, promote good finance business practice while becoming familiar with their operations, systems, processes, and policies.
  • Managing change and improvement in budgeting and reporting, fiscal responsibility, and financial processes to ensure operational needs are met through efficient and effective processes.
  • Preparing analysis on Budget and Quarterly review preparation and analysis including public reporting and internal presentations.
  • Managing operating performance, budget variances, trend analysis and KPI reporting to stakeholders including commentary on key variances and recommended actions to bridge gaps

About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Degree in Business, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Experience in a comparable position.
  • Completion or near completion of Post Graduate qualifications in Accounting (CA or CPA)
  • Experience leading and developing a small team in a commercial or similar environment
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
