Are you an experienced, practical-minded product designer who loves smart, logical designing?

DomeShelter Australia has been designing and manufacturing premium engineered Industrial Fabric Structures for 30 years. As the renowned leaders in this niche industry, we are excited about the potential of adding expert Design resources to our existing team. Additionally, we are looking for a resource who is eager to grow and step up to Head of Design within our company.

You’ve got a background in manufacturing or design, and you understand how things actually get built. You think practically and have a solid grasp of how design connects to fabrication and construction.

You’re experienced in AutoCAD and/Inventor/similar software, and can draw in both 2D and 3D. You’re quick on the tools and comfortable designing in real-time during discussions. You can listen to others talk and bring their ideas to life as they speak. You like improving designs and systems to make them more efficient and repeatable.

You’ve worked in or around manufacturing or construction and ideally have around some experience in these industries.

The role contains the following duties:

- Contributing to the pre-sale process and collaborating with estimators.

- Managing your own design projects

- Producing detailed design documentation and developing a standardised detailing library.

- Providing design input from early concept through to pre-construction and production.

- Communicating clearly with drafting, production, engineering, and installation teams.

- Identifying opportunities to improve products and processes.

- Conducting product research and testing new ideas or approaches.

You must be based in Perth, and willing to travel regularly to Northam (1 hour from Perth) where our manufacturing facility is located. The travel allowance is provided and you would likely need to visit fortnightly. Open to those who wish to relocate to WA.

This is a full-time role. Base salary depends on your experience—starting around $90K–$120K + Super.
