The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced/intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team in Kewdale. This role will see you working closely in a team of structural engineers alongside with our electrical engineers, project Managers, fabrication and fit-out teams to contribute to the full lifecycle of projects. Project lifecycles range from concept to design, engineering, fabrication.
Structures vary from a small steel bases to the designing and engineering of a full Switch room.
This role would be ideal for someone with previous experience in modular building engineering who can work in a fast-paced, multi-project team that enjoys solving engineering challenges and ensuring compliance with industry standards through analysis, testing, and innovation.
This role is not a civils base role.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform structural analysis and design of electrical infrastructure buildings (Steel structures)
Develop high-quality structural designs and documentation
Collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Project Managers, Fabricators and fit-out teams.
Prepares technical reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
Conduct site inspections and assessments as required
Ensure compliance with local building codes Australian Standards and Client Specifications
Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling and budgeting
Assist with the development and mentoring of junior members of the team.
Ensure all safety requirements are followed and adhered to.
Key requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Chartered would be preferred but not essential.)
5-10 year of local experience in Structural engineering with a focus on steel design, ideally with a manufacturing or industrial background
Extensive experience with switchboards, switch-rooms, kiosk substations or modular buildings is a distinct advantage
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Structural Toolkit, SpaceGass, STAAD.Pro, or similar, Revit & Advance Steel experience is a plus).
Strong knowledge of local building codes and standards
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A team-first attitude and willingness to take initiative
