A pivotal role in shaping Curtin’s Medical Radiation Science program
Curtin Medical School is seeking a dedicated Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Medical Radiation Science (Physics / Medical Physics) to join our growing academic community. This is a vital position, central to the ongoing success of our Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (BSc MRS) course, with particular responsibility for the teaching of Radiation Physics and Medical Radiation Instrumentation – core foundations of the curriculum.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine teaching and research in a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll be part of a team that is committed to delivering excellence in education and advancing research with meaningful impact.
Your new role As a Teaching and Research academic, you will:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Medical Radiation Physics and Instrumentation units, ensuring students gain both strong theoretical foundations and practical, industry-relevant skills.
- Play a key role in curriculum development and innovation, keeping the program aligned with accreditation requirements and evolving industry needs.
- Undertake independent and collaborative research that aligns with the School’s strategic priorities and contributes to the growth of knowledge in Medical Radiation Science.
- Mentor and inspire students throughout their academic and clinical journey, contributing to their development as the next generation of professionals.
- Work collaboratively with a passionate team of academics in a collegial, student-centred environment.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone who brings:
- A doctoral qualification in a relevant field (such as Physics, Medical Physics).
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching medical physics and/or medical radiation instrumentation.
- Proven high level teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching.
- A significant contribution to scholarship in teaching and experience in curriculum development and unit/course coordination
- A record of impactful research, and publication.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage meaningfully with students, peers, and industry.
