Keegan Adams Recruitment Pty Ltd
Posted 1 day ago
Our client is a highly respected Global Investment Bank with a growing presence in the Australian market. As their local trading and sales footprint expands, a newly created opportunity has been created as a Middle Office Analyst / Associate to join their Global Markets business in a front-office aligned support and control role.
This is an ideal move for someone with a background in Capital Markets Operations (middle or back office) who wants to get closer to the action, working closely with Sales, Trading, Clients, and global operations teams to ensure seamless execution and resolution of trade-related activity.
The Role
You’ll join a high-performing team, and will act as the conduit between the local Front Office and offshore Operations teams in Asia and Europe. The focus is on ensuring timely trade booking, allocation, validation, settlements, and life cycle events across a broad product set.
You’ll be the go-to person for stakeholders - helping resolve issues quickly, escalate settlement fails, support post-trade queries, and help the business stay compliant and operationally sound.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing trade allocations (FX, Bonds, Credit) and overseeing smooth deal flow
- Supporting settlement processes, tracking fails, and acting as escalation point for internal and external stakeholders
- Responding to post-trade client queries including novations, allocation adjustments, and booking errors
- Coordinating with offshore Middle and Back Office teams to ensure timely execution and accurate bookings
- Participating in cross-functional projects including new product rollouts, system improvements, and regulatory enhancements
- Maintaining daily controls, reporting, and compliance with governance and procedure frameworks
Who we’re looking for
This role suits someone detail-driven and proactive who thrives in a client-facing operations role - someone who enjoys problem solving and keeping things running smoothly in a high-pressure environment. You’ll have:
- Experience in a similar Global Markets Operations role (ideally between 3-7 years professional experience), with strong product knowledge across FX, Fixed Income, Credit, Derivatives and MM instruments
- A strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, settlement processes, and allocation flows
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with senior stakeholders
- A high level of initiative and ability to resolve issues autonomously
- Strong academics and a degree in Finance, Economics or similar
- Flexibility to work staggered hours (approx. 10–11am start / 7–8pm finish) to align with offshore team
Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship is essential
Why join?
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-calibre team, sitting close to the desk, and playing a visible role in the bank’s continued local expansion. You’ll gain exposure to senior leadership, global operations, and a diverse range of Capital Markets products.
- Work closely with Front Office Sales & Trading
- Join a globally recognised institution in growth mode
- Competitive salary + bonus + development opportunities
- Sydney CBD offices with modern facilities
