The Coordinator Corporate and Community Volunteers (Operations) is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of corporate and community volunteer deployments to support Disaster Relief Australia’s (DRA) activities, such as national operations, short operations, and preparedness initiatives. This role includes developing training and induction materials for DRA volunteer leaders and integrating these materials into the organisation’s leadership training programs.

Key accountabilities

DRA’s organisational culture

Lead by example in adhering to DRA’s values of Courage, Respect, Service and Tenacity and support a positive, values-based culture across the organisation.

Champion a culture of transparency, integrity and accountability within DRA, embedding organisational values into decision-making processes at all levels.

Work collegiately with other teams and stakeholders to pursue DRA’s vision and realise its overarching strategic goals.

Cultivate a high-performing team, establishing, empowering and holding members accountable for performance.

Provide advice and support on the deployment and management of corporate and community volunteers during DRA operations.

Develop and maintain DRA’s Corporate and Community Volunteers deployment doctrine, SOPs, and coordinating instructions.

Coordinate volunteer involvement in DRA activities, including logistics and NAB kit management.

Build and lead a skilled team of volunteer small team leaders across state-based Disaster Relief and Recovery Teams (DRRT).

Develop policies and procedures addressing key areas such as workplace health and safety, insurance, induction, fatigue management, and psychosocial support for volunteers.

Collaborate with community organisations to expand the DRA Corporate and Community Volunteer framework.

Manage and maintain volunteer introduction and leadership training programs in collaboration with the Associate Director Corporate and Community Volunteer Programs.

Coordinate and lead the annual volunteer training program.

Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Operations and Director Field Operations.

Salary: $90,000 - 100,000 p.a. + super + salary packaging + 2 weeks of paid volunteer leave
