The Opportunity
A key role, the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager role is to lead the FP&A team of Finance Business Partners & Analysts. It is a group role that leads the financial strategy of the company through delivery of the 5-year plan, budgeting and forecasting process and ensuring consistency of reporting across the group operations including automation.
Key duties include:
- Lead and manage the FP&A function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Lead the reporting requirements across all business units and locations
- Prepare and present detailed reports and dashboards to senior leadership and key stakeholders
- Guide and oversee scoping of new reports & reports changes with report owners and business partners & IT
- Drive continuous improvement in financial planning processes, tools, and methodologies including automation.
- Lead the business-wide financial budget & 5YP process, setting deliverables, managing schedule, delivering timely accurate results.
- Provide analysis and commentary in a succinct manner which is supported with the appropriate detail.
- Analyse financial performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business outcomes.
- Provide expert business partnering to the business and educate and explain analysis and reporting to a diverse non-financial audience.
- Develop and deliver financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
To be successful in this role you have:
- Degree qualification with CA/CPA ideal
- A background in a similar position in financial planning and analysis management ideally within a medium to large organisations
- Mining/heavy industry background
- Experience in automation and driving continuous improvement across an FP&A function
- Experience leading an FP&A or business partnering team
- Strong experience with excel, modelling and dashboards
- Expert business partnering experience including the ability to deliver financial and non financial advice to the business
- The ability to build relationships and influence a large stakeholder group across the business including the executive team
