The BOSS Commercial Air Conditioning team comprises over 65 staff including air conditioning technicians, plumbers, electricians, service managers and industry experienced managers specialising in commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning services. We deliver industry best practice maintenance services to ensure HVAC systems meet the high expectation of energy efficient performance and compliance.
Position Overview - Chief Financial Officer
Reporting to the Managing Director the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading all aspects of strategic and operational financial planning and management, compliance reporting requirements and business risk. The role includes a mix of hands-on transactional functions, cash flow/liquidly management and financial accounting, improving returns on investment and providing financial expertise to support strategic planning.
Ensuring the provision of high quality financial forecasting and supporting Bossair, TBL Plumbing and Facility Operations business units with forecasting income, cost of sales, expenses, and labour requirements is a key focus of the role.
Other priorities include developing and maintaining a financial reporting suite, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, to support the Managing Director and Business Unit Managers and optimise the operations of each unit. Providing support to the senior management team in assessing labour and resource requirements and cost benefit analysis on projects will also be an essential component of your role.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Develop financial models and analyse performance to improve decision-making and assess future risks and opportunities.
Ensure a strategic approach to procurement to lower costs and maximise financial outcomes.
Provide high level strategic advice to the Managing Director and business leaders to support operational and strategic objectives ensuring financial decisions are made based on accurate and robust information.
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting to the business.
Provide support to the senior management team in assessing labour and resource requirements and cost benefit analysis for projects.
Inform the development and implementation of comprehensive financial control policies and procedures, including credit control mechanisms and contract administration and retention strategies, to ensure regulatory compliance, manage project risk, and support operational efficiency across all phases of project delivery.
Manage the businesses’ cash position, ensuring that sufficient liquidity is maintained to meet operational and strategic needs.
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks. Ensure strong internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
Prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards to ensure regulatory compliance, including tax obligations and filings.
Lead the finance and administrative team, provide direction and advice as required and ensure staff are performing to a high level.
Ensure ethical decision-making across all aspects of the business.
Manage key service provider relationships and services including Accounting, IT and IMS Consultants. Ensure systems and services are fit for purpose and represent good value for money for the business.
Key Skills and Competencies
You will be CA/CPA qualified and have significant experience in financial management in a similar or related industry. You will bring knowledge and expertise to our business practices and enhance the financial processes and overall performance of Bossair.
