Wangaratta, VIC | Permanent Part Time | 30.4 hours per week | $32.67 per hour + super
At Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre (WSAC), we’re more than just a gym or a pool — we’re a dynamic hub of health, connection, and community spirit. As we grow into Victoria’s Premier Regional Sports & Events Precinct, we’re on the lookout for a vibrant, people-focused Membership & Engagement Officer to lead the way in creating meaningful experiences for our 2,500+ members — and many more to come.
What This Role is All About
Are you passionate about community wellbeing and creating memorable moments? In this high-energy, hands-on role, you’ll be the friendly face and strategic force behind our member engagement, promotions, and events. From growing our membership and strengthening local partnerships to ensuring every interaction feels personal and impactful — you’ll help us build something truly special.

What You’ll Do
Build lasting relationships with our 2,500+ members through exceptional service and a welcoming approach
Design and deliver promotions and initiatives that attract, retain, and delight members
Act as the lead for member communications — from events to follow-ups and feedback
Forge partnerships with local businesses and organisations to promote health-focused community programs
Assist with staff training to strengthen our customer service and engagement culture
Track, analyse, and report on member trends to help shape smarter decisions
Respond to enquiries and feedback quickly and helpfully — every interaction matters
Be a key contributor to a culture that values quick thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring
Experience in sales, customer service, or community engagement
A warm, confident communicator with a knack for building trust and connection
A results-focused mindset and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
Strong data and reporting skills — you know how to turn insights into action
A genuine passion for health, fitness, recreation, and making people feel welcome
Self-motivation, a strong team spirit, and a desire to make a real difference

The Rural City of Wangaratta was formed from the merger of the City of Wangaratta, the Shires of Oxley and Wangaratta and parts of the Shires of Beechworth, Benalla and Yarrawonga. Originally known as the Shire of Milawa when the municipality was created on 18 November 1994 it was renamed the Rural City of Wangaratta on 29 June 1995.
