The National Trust of Australia (Victoria) (NTAV) is an independent, non-profit organisation supported by a large community base. We are Victoria's premier heritage and conservation organisation and the major operator of historic places open to the public across Victoria.

About the role

The Events & Business Development Manager will report directly to the Executive Manager, Commercial and is responsible for driving more dynamic engagement with NTAV places and providing excellent service for the commercial, private and community events happening everyday in venues across the National Trust property portfolio. You will actively seek new opportunities, focusing on program diversification and development and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful end-to-end delivery of events. The role has a strong mix of sales and event management and is the central touchpoint for NTAV clients. The ability to develop and nurture strong, positive and productive relationships with staff, contractors, suppliers, delivery partners and clients is essential.

You will be responsible for product development, sales forecasting and budgeting, sales strategy development, achieving sales targets, high level account management, and team leadership. As part of the Commercial team you will work closely with NTAV property managers, marketing team and in-house graphic designer who will provide you with all the tools you require to reach your sales targets.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Sales of venue hire, including identification and pursuit of ongoing/new business across community, government, conferences, film and television, corporate and private events

Review and development of new sales strategies, digital assets, and staff training

Accountability for sales KPIs and reporting

Development of new products and pricing models

Client account management

Stakeholder management

Development of an annual NTAV events program

Accountability for customer satisfaction with NTAV Venue Hire clients and partners

About you

Event, Business or Tourism experience required

Experience in a Not For Profit Organisation would be an advantage

Experience in event delivery and execution

Demonstrated achievement of sales targets and KPIs, budget preparation and sales reporting

Excellent written and verbal communication

Excellent interpersonal and relationship development skills

Ability to present to management and groups of staff on a range of issues and subjects

Results orientated, self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and within set timeframes

Have an Australian driver's license
