Launching new region for an engineering services company.
About:
Salt are proud to be partnering with an engineering services company, opening a new location in Melbourne, Australia.
As the first hire in AU region, the Business Development Regional Manager is responsible for driving growth and enhancing the company's market presence across Australia.
This position focuses on identifying new opportunities to strengthen the local entity's footprint, cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships, and forming strategic partnerships to achieve revenue goals.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Business Development Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align strategies with corporate objectives, ensuring long-term, sustainable growth in the Australian market
Develop and execute market entry and expansion strategies for Australia, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Carry out comprehensive market research to uncover growth opportunities, monitor industry trends, and assess competitive landscapes.
Deliver insights and recommendations to the Director to support informed strategic decisions.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to strengthen brand presence in Australia.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong knowledge of the Australian market, including labour laws and pharmaceutical/plant workforce competency standards.
Experience in multinational or cross-border business development roles.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment, overseeing end-to-end project execution and delivery for clients, including assembling and coordinating global teams.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project acquisition.
Familiarity with industries: Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Management, Pharmaceutical, etc. to enable faster market penetration and relationship building.
Experience managing international client portfolios or working within a global business environment.
