The Department is seeking candidates for several ongoing positions to bolster the team in the Big Rivers Region.
1 x Property Coordinator (T6 or AO7)
2 x Property Contract Officer (T5 or AO6)
Applicants will be assessed against both positions and offers of employment will be made by the Selection Panel based on the applicants’ experience and suitability for the respective role.
As a Property Contract Officer, you are the primary source of asset management to the Housing Property Service unit delivering effective, high quality and culturally appropriate management of public and government employee housing within the Big Rivers Region.
Key duties involve the contract administration and project management of repairs and maintenance and minor new works, conducting asset management inspections and monitoring the workmanship of contractors.
As the Property Coordinator, you provide leadership and supervision to a team of Property Contract Officers, ensuring the effective delivery of urban and remote housing services to the Region. You will also ensure compliance with relevant statutory regulations while maintaining cultural sensitivity in communication to key community stakeholders and tenants. In addition, you will provide contract and program management to agreed scope of works and conduct pre-hand-over inspections on housing assets.
To be successful, you will have sound knowledge and understanding of legislation, standards, codes associated with the construction, maintenance and management of residential properties. Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including negotiation and conflict resolution, and the ability to communicate sensitively and credibly with Aboriginal tenants, clients and stakeholders.
Working alongside a supportive and inspiring team, you will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package consisting of; 12% superannuation, six weeks recreational and three weeks personal leave, up to 17.5% annual leave loading, 3 day paid shutdown over Christmas and the opportunity to further develop your career in the Northern Territory Public Sector.
Successful applicants with Trade or Tertiary qualifications will be appointed at a technical level, otherwise at an administration level.
