About the role

We are currently seeking Casual Disability Support Workers to work with our high needs client who is in stage 4 Huntington's Disease. The client has very limited limb mobility so full assistance with all daily tasks are required. Client is on level 4 thickend fluid. The role is 2:1 AM & PM with one active night duty & a sleepover shift. I am looking for staff who can do all types of shifts, AM, PM, active night duty & sleepover shifts. This role involves both personal & emotional support so if you have a positive mind set, are intuitive & client focused, this role is for you. An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your transition. Must love birds.

Your key responsibilities

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:

• All ADL's
• Assistance with all food & fluids
• Manual handling
• Medication
• Domestic assistance
• Companionship
• Community access assistance
• Assistance with bird feeding

About you

To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

• Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
• Manual handling experience (essential)
• Personal care experience
• Current First aid and CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Card
• Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Drake Medox recruit specifically to our client's needs, to ensure we provide the right support. Due to the nature and complexity of this clients' needs candidates must have experience within the industry.

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client-focused.
